LinkAble is a Woking based charity that supports people with a learning disability and autistic people to create the life they want to live. Each year, we provide over 300 children, young people, and adults access to a wide range of activities that develop skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.

Minibus driver

To support the running of our busy play and activity sessions for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities by driving one of our two minibuses. Sessions run during the day, after school, in the evenings, at weekends and in school holidays. 

We are looking for a team of drivers with varying availability but in particular school holidays.

  • Pay: £15 per hour
  • Expected hours: 2 – 12 per week

Key Tasks

  • Drive one of our minibuses to various local community venues such as Bocketts
  • Farm where are children, young people and adults are visiting. Wait at the venue and drive the children back to The Link.
  • Pick up children from local schools to bring them to our centre in Woking.
  • Take adults out to local community venues, either waiting for them or returning at the end of the day.
  • Report any issues with the vehicle or the journey to the Group Leader for the session.
  • Complete vehicle checks.

Required Skills

  • Physically fit and a careful driver who is confident in driving larger vehicles.
  • To take the required minibus drivers training you are required to be over 21, have been driving for 3 years and have a clean driving license. Some vehicles require a D1 license.
  • Be confident interacting with children, young people and adults who have learning disabilities, with support alongside other staff.
  • Committed to safeguarding principles and reporting and to following the Safeguarding Policy.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity and following policies and procedures.

Group Leader (Afterschool Club)

£14.29 an hour, Part-time in Woking.

Job role 

Working with the After School Manager to lead and manage a team. You will assist in delivering a wide range of activities for children and young people with additional needs. Ensuring a fun, stimulating and safe environment for attendees at all times.

The set working hours for this role are:

Monday - Thursday

  • 2.30pm - 7.45pm on Mondays
  • 2:30pm - 6:45pm Tuesdays to Thursdays

Expected hours: No less than 18 per week

About you

  • GCSE or equivalent (required)
  • Experience: supporting children with SEND/Learning Disabilities: 1 year (required)
  • Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred)

Group Leader

We are looking for a Group Leader to run MOP, our weekly adult evening social club on Thursday from 5.45pm to 9.15pm. Applicants for role can be combined with other daytime or evening roles that LinkAble is recruiting for.

  • Recognised professional qualification – NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent would be desirable but not essential.
  • A full driving licence with D1 entitlement is desirable but not essential
  • Be 18 years of age or over.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.

After School Club Worker

We have a position in our After School Club team, looking after children with additional needs, You will deliver a wide range of activities for children and young people with learning disabilities (SEND) and autistic children on four afternoons a week, after school hours have finished. 

Hours of work

  • 2:45pm - 6:30pm
  • Monday - Thursday, during term-time

We are looking for staff to cover at least two days a week, preferably four days but not essential. This role can also be done alongside our Playworker roles on Saturday and Sundays.

Requirements

  • Qualifications - GCSE or equivalent
  • Experience looking after or working with children
  • Some cooking skills and experience is desirable
  • A driving license is desirable if you're over 21, as some of our staff drive the minibus to collect the children from school and bring them back to our centre.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Pay: Up to £12.82 per hour
  • Expected hours: 4 – 15 per week

Saturday Playworker

Working as part of a team you will assist in delivering a wide range of activities for children and young people with a learning disability or autism, within the framework of LinkAble's policies and procedures. In conjunction with colleagues, ensure a fun, always stimulating and safe environment for children and young people.

  • You must have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact well with both children and your team members.

  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Pay: Between £7.17 - £12.82 (depending on age)
  • Saturdays (9.00am to 4.00pm)

Group Leader - Youth Group (East Moseley)

We are looking for a Group Leader to run our brand new youth group in East Moseley on Friday from 5.45pm to 8.15pm. Applicants for the role can be combined with other daytime or evening roles that LinkAble is recruiting for.

In this friendly youth group, attendees work with our staff to build a monthly programme of activities for children aged between 11-18.

Link Up Youth Group offers the opportunity to meet new people, enjoy activities and have fun with friends in a safe and supported environment. As the group members get stuck into a wide range of social activities, they have ongoing opportunities to practice social skills and communication, which helps increase their independence.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the effective, efficient delivery and management of the group. To manage, lead and coach the staff and volunteers. To ensure a fun, stimulating and safe environment for service users at all times.

About you

  • Experience working with disabled adults/young people or children is essential.

Youth Group Playworker (East Molesey)

You will be part of a small team responsible for delivering an exciting, energetic and age appropriate schedule of fun activities for a group of Children aged 11-18 years at a brand new scheme in Elmbridge.

The role will be both challenging and very rewarding and you must enjoy working with others in a busy sociable and hands-on environment. You will assist with preparing and delivering the sessions within a safe and caring environment and working within the framework of the charities policies and procedures. You will support the children with personal care, moving and handling and developing their communication skills and ensure the safeguarding of the vulnerable young people in our care.

No previous experience is required however you may be studying or have an interest in studying childcare, psychology or medicine and be looking for practical experience.

About you
