LinkAble's 'We Can Do Anything' Group are enjoying regular visits to Guildford Cathedral where they are ensuring that the cathedral's planters are bursting with beautiful blooms. The planters were sponsored by local organisations including The University of Surrey and Charles Russell.
Being in charge of the planters outside the cathedral is a great way for the group to learn all about gardening, weeding and maintaining plants. The activity means the group are supporting the local community by keeping the area at the front of the cathedral looking beautiful whilst having the opportunity to meet new people, enjoy being outside and working as a team.
When the project began the plan was for the LinkAble group to just be responsible for the planters. However Guildford Cathedral were so impressed with the group's gardening abilities that they have given the group a wider range of gardening responsibilities in the cathedral grounds.
