Learning Disability Week 2018 was a very busy week at LinkAble. We planned a wide range of activities in different locations around Woking. We found opportunities to share information about LinkAble's work and gave people experiences which mimic living with a learning disability.
Our Wednesday Keep Fit group took their fitness activities to Jubilee Square in Woking. Members of the public could see the kinds of activities which the group take part in on a weekly basis.
Students at Hoebridge School and Horsell Junior School were visited by LinkAble staff who ran learning disability awareness session for students. The students took part in a range of activities which let them access a range of experience that given an idea of the challenges faced by those living with learning disabilities.
LinkAble staff, volunteers and service users visited the Capgemini offices in Woking and held a cake sale. The sale raised much needed funds for LinkAble and gave staff at Capgemini the opportunity to meet people involved with the charity and understand more about the work the charity does.
Throughout the week our staff, service users, friends and family posted photographs on twitter telling us why they love LinkAble. We had a huge number of positive comments from staff, service users and their families.
We are already making Learning Disability Awareness week 2019!
