LinkAble celebrates service users and supporters at their annual awards night | LinkAble

Local charity LinkAble celebrated the successes of their service users and thanked their supporters with their annual awards night, held at Goldswater Lodge.

The evening started with a performance from the charity’s choir, the High Notes, as well as a performance later in the evening by LinkAble’s drama group, the ActAbles.  Both groups, made up of adults with learning disabilities and autism, put on fantastic performances and left everyone with goose bumps and feeling inspired.

Awards were presented by Cllr Will Forster, Mayor for Woking and Cllr Dan Adams, Mayor for Surrey Heath to LinkAble’s service users.  There was a variety of reasons for the winners being chosen including a service user who has overcome personal challenges enabling them to take part in more of the charity’s activities, a young man who has been upbeat, positive and actively engaging some of the charity’s higher needs individuals to get involved in activities at a group as well as another award to a service user who has been incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming to new children who join the groups.  LinkAble also took this opportunity to thank the supporters of the charity without who, life at the Charity would be that little bit harder and a little less exciting too!
The charity is already looking forward to next year’s awards night which will also form part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations for LinkAble.
