Summer's here!

July and August are usually incredibly busy months at LinkAble. There was certainly a time earlier this year when it looked as though we would not be able to see any of our service users face to face until much later in the year.   

We were pleased to be able to trial face to face services for U18s on Saturdays in June/July and our learning from this has helped us to offer 5 weeks of summer scheme.  Our summer scheme does look a bit different to other years.  Families have been offered full weeks rather than being able to pick specific days, we are running shorter sessions and we are not able to offer off site trips.  We are still having fun though and being creative about the different activities we can offer on site.  Hopefully the weather will be on our side so we have full use of the LinkAble garden and play area. 

We have not forgotten our Over 18 service users.  Since April we have had groups meeting virtually for a range of activities during the week.  In July we launched our drama group for adults – The Actables – virtually and this has been highly successful.  We are running other groups virtually in August and our hope is that we will be able to return to meeting our Over 18 service users face to face in the autumn. 

We know that this has been a really challenging time for everyone but we have enjoyed keeping in contact with everyone virtually.  Hopefully we will be seeing you all again, face to face, soon.
