LinkAble Youth Services

Services for Youths at LinkAble

LinkAble Youth Services
LinkAble supports young people with learning disabilities from the age of 12 to 18, enabling them to develop social skills and explore their own abilities as they grow.

Youth activities include active social clubs, drama, dance and sports. During the school holidays, we run daily activities at The Link, in the local community and further afield. Our focus on social interaction, independence and development ensures each young person is able to join in new opportunities, developing their personal skills and increasing their confidence.

Every young person develops at their own pace, with their own needs and expectations. We help our young people transition between groups when they are ready, to make growing up a friendly, enjoyable and exciting experience!

Our Youth Service is open to children and young people aged 12-18 years with various learning disabilities.

Our youth activities focus on:
  • Enabling choice and fun
  • Developing social interaction
  • Making friends and connecting with others
In order to support a smooth transition between age groups, ensuring a comfortable move through from Children to Youth / Youth to Adult we facilitate those service users who are not quite ready to move on by taking a flexible approach to age groupings. Dance and Drama are good examples of where this applies.
