27 April 2016
We would like to invite everyone involved with LinkAble to an important one-hour presentation regarding LinkAble’s future taking place on May 23rd at The Link.
In January we were notified by Surrey County Council that we would no longer be receiving funding for our adult services, effective from 1st April 2016. As many of you will know, this is part of wider cuts which councils everywhere are having to make. This loss of funding has obviously left us with a significant shortfall in our funding for adult services in our 2016 / 2017 budget and so we have had to develop a plan to respond to this.
We have reviewed how our services are funded and structured, how our internal structure and overheads function as well as our wider fundraising activity. One element of our plan includes increasing the prices we charge for our adult services.
Throughout everything, we would like to reassure you that our top priority is to ensure LinkAble continues to support local people with learning disabilities and so the decisions made, which will be presented and explained on May 23rd, have not been taken without significant time, thought and consideration.
To ensure as many people as possible can attend, we will run the presentation four times through the day, at 11am, 2pm, 5:30pm and 8pm. The presentation will be given by Ben Harman, Lesley Melling and trustees from our Board with time for you to then meet further with our staff and trustees to discuss your thoughts, suggestions and feedback as well as answering any questions. We will also provide an easy-read version of the presentation.
If you are able to attend, please contact us on 01483 770037 or firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know which session you would like to come to so we can plan accordingly. You are of course very welcome to bring along any support with you which you will find helpful at the presentation.
